Awards and Grants

There are several opportunities open for you.  In addition to the awards mentioned below, ASBMR have very kindly provided two NI awards for $1500 towards travel and attendance at the meeting for their NI members.  It would be great for you to showcase your research here in the UK so please submit and also email the BRS Secretary to let her know you're an ASBMR NI applicant. Also, please don't forget the Neil Mackenzie Public Engagement opportunity.

BRS New Investigator Award and Best Presentation Award applicants must be:

  • A member of BRS at the time of applying
  • Working towards or within 5 years of attainment of higher degree or completion of specialist training
  • A presenting author (oral or poster) at BRS meeting  

New Investigator Awards

For up to 10 of the top scoring abstracts from eligible authors.
Award -  free registration to the annual conference (NB you are still eligible to apply for travel bursaries if you win this award)

Best Presentation Awards

Presentations will be judged during the meeting and prizes will be awarded as follows

  • Best oral
  • Best oral poster
  • Best poster

Bursaries

The Society also offers bursaries of up to £150 towards the cost of attending the meeting to BRS members submitting abstracts.

Carer Grants

A grant of up to £100 is available to members who incur additional childcare or other caring costs to attend the meeting.
