Dent Lecture Nominations 2026
Awarded to an individual who has made a major scientific contribution to the field of bone research, either within the UK or internationally. The recipient gives a plenary lecture at the BRS annual meeting.

- Deadline for nominations is Friday 19 December 2025.
New Investigator Awards
Five awards for the highest-scoring abstracts from eligible authors, including free conference registration.
- To apply please tick the appropriate box during your abstract submission and upload the eligibility form that can be downloaded HERE.
NI Eligibility criteria: (you must meet all criteria 1 to 4)
- A Member of BRS (at the time of applying and during the annual meeting)
- In training or within 5 years of attainment of higher degree or completion of specialist training based on full time equivalent work (allowances can be made for career breaks e.g. parental leave/sickness/changing careers or for those working part time; please add details).
- You will be the presenting author of the abstract
- You will only be eligible for an award if you have not been awarded one in the previous two years.
Best Presentation Awards
Presentations will be judged during the meeting and prizes will be awarded as follows:
- Best Oral (basic / clinical)
- Best Poster Pitch
- Best Poster (basic / clinical)
Travel Bursaries
The Society offers a limited number of travel bursaries of up to £150 towards the travel cost of attending the meeting to BRS members submitting abstracts as first authors.

BRS Carers Allowance
We recognise that attending conferences can be challenging for those with caring responsibilities.
Members may apply for a grant of up to £100 towards additional childcare or care costs to attend the BRS Annual Meeting.
