Dent Lecture nominations 2023

The BRS Dent Lecture is awarded to someone who has made a major scientific contribution to field of bone research, either within the UK or internationally. The recipient gives a plenary lecture at the BRS annual meeting.

New Investigator Awards

For the top scoring abstracts from eligible authors. The award will consist of free registration to the annual conference.

To apply please tick the appropriate box during your registration and upload the eligibility form that can be downloaded here.

NI Eligibility criteria: (you must meet all criteria 1 to 4)

  1. A Member of BRS (at the time of applying and during the annual meeting)
  2. In training or within 5 years of attainment of higher degree or completion of specialist training based on full time equivalent work (allowances can be made for career breaks e.g. parental leave/sickness/changing careers or for those working part time; please add details).
  3. You will be the presenting author of the abstract
  4. You will only be eligible for an award if you have not been awarded one in the previous two years.

  

Judith Adams Imaging Award 2023

BRS members are invited to submit images from their research for our annual BRS Judith Adams imaging award. We invite scientific images from across the breadth of BRS members' work, molecule to whole body. Images will be displayed throughout the annual meeting with delegates voting for their favourite. The winning image will be used as the banner image on the BRS Twitter page for the next year and recipient awarded a gift voucher.

The award is now open for applications until 12pm, Wednesday 12th April. Please see here for details on how to apply.

 

Best Presentation Awards

Presentations will be judged during the meeting and prizes will be awarded as follows

  • Best oral (basic/clinical)
  • Best poster pitch
  • Best poster (basic/clinical)

To apply please tick the appropriate box during your registration and confirm eligibility as indicated on the eligibility form.

Travel Bursaries

The Society also offers a limited number of travel bursaries of up to £150 towards the travel cost of attending the meeting to BRS members submitting abstracts as first authors.

BRS Carers Allowance

We realise that attending meetings and being away from home may present difficulties for those with caring duties. A grant of up to £100 is available to members who incur additional childcare or other caring costs to attend the annual BRS meeting.
